Mothman Musuem

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? A UFO? If it’s the Mothman, it’s not just sight for sore eyes, it’s a premonition to tragedy. This enormous flying creature stalked and bewildered the community of Point Pleasant, West Virginia, between 1966 and 1967. The Mothman was linked to an array of paranormal events, culminating into the collapse of the Silver Bridge that killed 46 people.

Founded in 2005 and curated by Jeff Wamsley, the Mothman Museum is dedicated to the phenomenon that befell its community. Featuring records and documentaries, along with the largest collection of memorabilia from The Mothman Prophecies, the museum also offers bus tours and hosts an annual weekend-long festival. Additionally, visitors can view sculptor Bob Roach’s 12-foot-tall stainless steel statue of the Mothman.
